History

HRG founder Tyler Lainson started in the insurance business in June of 2000. He was looking for a career that would reward him based on the effort he put forth on a day to day basis, but more importantly provided him career “satisfaction”. He had been exposed to far too many individuals that seemed to jump from job to job searching for this, or those who just settled for doing something because it was better than the alternative.

Tyler spent the first 6 years of his career on the captive side of the business, only representing one company for any and all insurance products that his clients needed. In the fall of 2006, he and his partner decided to step into the independent world and work with a number of the most highly respected insurance companies in the industry. This venture proved to be very successful and after 3 years they decided to partner with American Senior Benefits and expand to Des Moines, Ia.

HRG was born when the decision was made to expand to the Des Moines marketplace in late 2009. Over the course of the last 4 years HRG, through its partnership with ASB, has quickly developed into an organization that strives to pass along as much cost savings as possible to the consumer. HRG has a team of very talented and dedicated individuals that service all of Iowa. These 30 + agents, managers, marketers and financial representatives are determined to grow HRG into an organization that is well respected and recognized in the marketplace. HRG is fortunate to have a strong, knowledge sales staff that spends hours on end assisting their clients.

The vision behind Heartland Retirement Group is to provide an agency that can work with individuals of all ages, but also have the flexibility to work with numerous companies because every company looks at clients in a different light. The team at HRG strives to exhaust every option they have, to put their clients in the very best situation possible.
