Owner

Tyler Lainson is the owner and founder of Heartland Retirement Group. He began the company with the goal of providing multiple insurance options to individuals as they go through their retirement years. HRG has one of the hardest-working and most talented agent forces in the insurance industry and is focused on becoming one of the leading provider of insurance options to retirees in the nation. Originally from Council Bluffs, Iowa, the Lainson family relocated to Des Moines, Iowa in 2011. Before then, Tyler started in the insurance industry with Bankers Life and Casualty in Omaha, Nebraska. At Bankers Life, Tyler quickly moved up the ranks and become one of the top Unit Sales Managers in the company. In 2006, he along with his business partner at the time, Ryan Schaake, opened their own marketing organization in Omaha. In 2009, they expanded to the Des Moines marketplace and Tyler accepted the challenge of opening a new region. A few short years later, they each become their own entity and from that – HRG was born. Over the past several years HRG has grown to 80+ agents, managers and advisors, with physical offices in four locations – and more to come in 2019. Tyler and his wife Angela now call Johnston, IA home. They have four young children and whenever the Lainson family isn’t running a business, Tyler and Angela enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, playing golf, exercising, and rooting for their favorite sports teams.
